A bad back made me look into the crossbow side of hunting. Until I bought this Horton Explorer TR 175 I had only fired a crossbow 3 or 4 times with the main reason being speed and power. To my amazement, I recently looked into crossbows and found that now days they are actually hitting speeds of 300 FPS and higher, wow.
12/28/2011 · I don’t know about the Explorer 175 but I have a Explorer HD150 and killed 3 deer this year with it and feel very confident out to 35yards with it. Every deer I shot at I hit exactly where I aimed and they all dropped in less than 100 yards. I used Horton carbon Mx arrows and 100gr Rocket Ultimate Steel broadheads.
